To the Great Basin College Community,
I am excited to reach out to each of you today as the Interim President of Great Basin College. As I step into my new role, I’m reminded of the significance of our mission. Our institution stands on the threshold of greatness, driven by our mission of “Transforming Lives Through Education.” For me, this mission is not just a set of words; it serves as a guiding compass that will shape and direct everything we do. I believe our mission is reflected in each of our devoted faculty, who go above and beyond to inspire and mentor our students. Along with the tireless efforts of our staff who work behind the scenes to ensure that our campus is a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. It is also embodied in the determination of our students who overcome obstacles and seize opportunities with courage and resilience.
As I look to the future, my vision for GBC is bold and ambitious. I envision a place where every student can access the education they need to achieve their dreams, regardless of their background or circumstances.
I envision a future where our graduates are not only leaders and innovators but also individuals making meaningful contributions to their communities and the world beyond. Together we can make GBC more than just a place of learning; we will aim to be a beacon of hope and opportunity for all who seek knowledge.
As an institution, we will embrace innovation and adaptability in the face of change. We need to foster a culture of collaboration and partnership both within our institution and the broader community. We will remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence and equity in all that we do, working together to build a brighter future for GBC and all who pass through our doors. Our true measure of our success will be the lives we touch and the difference we make in the communities in which we all live and grow.
